Skydrol Fluid

Skydrol is a fire resistant aviation hydraulic fluid currently manufactured by the Eastman Chemical Company and previously manufactured by Solutia and Monsanto. There are several Skydrol lines, including Skydrol 500B-4, Skydrol LD-4, and Skydrol 5.

Skydrol consists of a group of chemical additives dissolved in fire resistant phosphate ester base stock, prevent corrosion and prevent erosion damage in servo valves and contain purple or green dyes for ease of identification. It has been approved by most aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus, Boeing and BAE Systems, and has been used in their products for over 40 years.
